Get ready for an exciting update from the world of Disney! A new construction project is taking flight at Disney's Animal Kingdom.
The beloved Feathered Friends in Flight! theater is about to undergo some changes, and we've got the inside scoop for you. Walt Disney World has filed a permit, and here's what we know so far.
Feathered Friends in Flight! Theater: A Construction Journey
According to the Notice of Commencement, the Buena Vista Construction Company, owned by Disney, will be handling the labor, materials, and electrical work at the Caravan Theater. This theater is the vibrant home of the Feathered Friends in Flight! show, located in the Asia section of the park.
But here's where it gets controversial... The permit wasn't filed by Imagineering, which suggests that the construction might not involve any significant alterations to the theater or the show itself. However, there's a possibility that the show will temporarily close for some much-needed refurbishment. Disney has kept us guessing by not announcing any closure dates yet.
The permit, filed on January 21st, is valid for a year. So, we can expect some exciting developments in the near future. The show usually graces the stage at 10:45 a.m., 11:45 a.m., 1:45 p.m., 2:45 p.m., and 3:45 p.m. daily, offering multiple opportunities to catch the feathered friends in action.
Feathered Friends in Flight! stepped in as a socially distanced alternative to Up! A Great Bird Adventure in 2020 and has since become the theater's permanent resident.
And this is the part most people miss... The show's history is quite fascinating! It replaced Up! A Great Bird Adventure, offering a new and improved experience for guests.
So, what do you think? Are you excited about the potential changes? Or do you prefer the current setup? We'd love to hear your thoughts in the comments! Feel free to share your Disney park experiences and any predictions you might have for this construction project. Let's spark a friendly discussion!
