The Evolution of Style: Campillo's Fall/Winter Collection Unveiled
Get ready for a fashion journey like no other! Mexican designer Campillo has once again teamed up with APICCAPS, the Portuguese leather and footwear association, to showcase their latest collaboration during New York Fashion Week. But here's where it gets intriguing: this season, they've partnered with Mariano Shoes, a renowned footwear manufacturer, to create a unique blend of traditional and contemporary styles.
The collection features a classic boot design with a modern twist. Inspired by the Charro, a historical figure from Mexico's countryside, Campillo aimed to create a boot that felt both timeless and cutting-edge. And they didn't hold back on color, taking risks to create a fresh and polished look.
"The boot's design is a perfect blend of tradition and innovation," Campillo explained. "It's a modern take on a classic, with a refined Western influence."
But the boots are just the beginning. Campillo also collaborated with Belcinto, a Portuguese leather goods manufacturer, to create a range of bags and belts, all crafted from innovative materials developed as part of the BioShoes4all project. This project showcases APICCAPS' commitment to pushing the boundaries of footwear and accessory design.
In an exclusive interview, Campillo shared his vision for this season's footwear. "Shoes have the power to transform an entire outfit. A pair of sleek loafers can elevate a casual look, while a structured boot can add sophistication. It's all about choosing footwear that enhances the overall concept."
And this is the part most people miss: Campillo's collection also features a surprise collaboration with Nike. The designer incorporated Total 90 sneakers into his looks, paying homage to his lifelong passion for blending sport and fashion. "As a kid, I loved the style of Total 90 shoes. Now, as an adult, I appreciate them for their beauty and the nostalgic feelings they evoke."
So, what do you think? Is Campillo's collection a bold step forward, or does it stray too far from traditional fashion? Share your thoughts in the comments! We'd love to hear your opinions on this unique blend of styles.
